Why use a Suckabucket dust control device?

Many dry mix materials contain products that can affect human health when inhaled. Even seemingly harmless materials like flour or sugar can create dust that can be harmful with prolonged exposure.

Concrete, mortars, and grouts often contain crystalline silica dust which can cause lung cancer and other respiratory problems.

Suckabucket can dramatically reduce these airborne contaminants and help to keep your work environment cleaner by reducing surface dust on adjacent areas.

OSHA requires that employers take measure to control the dust released from products containing Crystalline Silica.

OSHA 3681 Concerning Respirable Crystalline Silica Dust

This document outlines the potential health effects caused by exposure to Crystalline Silica Dust and OSHA's employer requirements for protecting workers by using dust controls such as the Suck-a-bucket.

How much does Suckabucket reduce airborne contaminants?

The airborne contaminate reduction amount depends on many factors including, vacuum used, filter type, dry material used for mixing, bucket size, and other environmental factors which makes giving a simple answer to this question difficult. Testing using typical materials and tools yielded a 95%+ reduction in airborne contaminates.

WA State L&I Testing Concluded the following:

“Direct reading results show that the adapter (Suckabucket) used to control dust when pouring is very effective, even using a small vacuum.  Personal breathing zone samples showed crystalline silica exposure reductions of 87% to 99%+ from the amounts found in previous monitoring…”
